Orthopaedics focuses on the development, prevention, recognition and treatment of congenital or acquired deformities and defects in form or function involving the musculoskeletal system, i.e. the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments, as well as on the rehabilitation of the patient. Orthopaedic treatments may therefore include surgical procedures, physiotherapy, training therapy, orthopaedic pain therapy as well as physical and medical treatment for arthrosis.
