Paediatric Cardiology is an independent branch of Paediatrics. Children with heart disease require highly-qualified and continuous medical care by staff in order to ensure that heart defects are recognised and treated as soon as possible before secondary damage can occur to the organ. Most heart problems in children are often the result of simple, but harmless defects to the heart. Some congenital heart defects do, however, require early paediatric cardiac surgery. Such surgery is usually always able to be carried out due to the many operating possibilities available nowadays and the many years of experience of our surgeons.
